Apple Watch ECG Feature Receives NMPA Class II Medical Device Registration
Apple Watch's electrocardiogram (ECG) function officially received NMPA Class II medical device registration in China, enabling it to be used as a medical-grade device.
Apple announced today that the Apple Watch Series 10's electrocardiogram (ECG) function has officially received NMPA Class II medical device registration certificate from China's National Medical Products Administration.
This means Apple Watch can now be used as a medical-grade cardiac monitoring device in China, with its arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation detection features providing clinically relevant data.
Previously, Huawei Watch D had obtained the same certification. Apple's approval will intensify competition in the medical wearables market.
