AI Gene Editing Precision Dosing System CrisprDose Launches: Customizing Optimal Dosing Regimens Based on Individual Genomes

Intellia Therapeutics' CrisprDose system can calculate optimal dosing and delivery regimens for gene editing therapies based on individual patient genomic variations and target organ characteristics.

AI Gene Editing Precision Dosing System CrisprDose Launches: Customizing Optimal Dosing Regimens Based on Individual Genomes

Intellia Therapeutics officially launched the CrisprDose AI precision dosing system on July 7. One of the challenges facing gene editing therapy is "dose personalization" — the same dose can yield editing efficiencies varying by more than 10-fold across different patients, influenced by factors including individual genomic variation, liver metabolism capacity, and immune status.

CrisprDose integrates whole-genome sequencing data, blood biochemistry metrics, and target organ imaging data, using pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) models to calculate the optimal dose, injection rate, and delivery vector formulation for each patient. In retrospective analyses, patients who received CrisprDose-recommended doses saw the inter-individual coefficient of variation in gene editing efficiency drop from 45% to 12%.

The system has been integrated into Intellia's clinical trial management platform and is planned to be used as a standard tool in future Phase III trials.
