Xiaomi released its third automotive product—the SU8 electric sedan—on April 12th, marking Xiaomi's first entry into the pure electric sedan market.

The SU8 has dimensions of 4870x1960x1450mm with a 2920mm wheelbase, positioned as a mid-to-large pure electric sedan. The standard version offers 620km CLTC range, while the long-range version reaches 820km. The core highlight is Xiaomi's self-developed "Surge Intelligent Driving" city NOA system, with the launch event demonstrating a complete Shanghai evening rush hour city autonomous drive without any interventions.

Pricing strategy is aggressive: standard version at $19,900, long-range at $23,900, performance version at $29,900. Xiaomi SU8 Max Founder's Edition (with dual-motor AWD and top-tier intelligent driving across all trims) is priced at $34,900.

Orders reached over 80,000 units within 24 hours of launch, with over 60% of orders choosing the intelligent driving version with city NOA. Xiaomi Auto's current annual production capacity is approximately 200,000 units, with order delivery cycles expected to be 3-6 months.

Lei Jun stated at the launch that SU8 will be a key product for Xiaomi Auto's "1 to 10" transition, with plans to continuously invest in intelligent driving R&D, targeting nationwide city NOA coverage by 2029.
