The Pudong New Area Health Commission in Shanghai announced on November 22, 2028, the full deployment of SentriMind — an AI psychological crisis intervention system that analyzes users' social media activity, communication patterns, and vocal characteristics to assess mental health status in real time and automatically trigger intervention when crisis signals are detected.

SentriMind's technical architecture employs multimodal fusion analysis. The system accesses sentiment analysis data from social media platforms (with user consent), monitoring shifts in the emotional tone of posts. It simultaneously analyzes communication frequency and timing — social withdrawal and increased late-night activity are early indicators of depression. The voice analysis module identifies emotional anomalies through pitch, speech rate, and pause patterns during phone calls.

"Traditional psychological crisis intervention is passive — you wait for someone to ask for help," explained project lead Dr. Zhao Min, Chief Psychiatrist at the Shanghai Mental Health Center. "SentriMind is proactive — it identifies risk before the crisis occurs."

However, SentriMind has sparked significant privacy controversy. The Chinese Psychological Association issued a statement expressing concern about the system's data usage scope and calling for independent ethical oversight.
