AI Music Copyright Tracing Platform TuneGuard Launches: Every AI-Generated Track Traceable to Training Data Sources
Sony Music and Spotify jointly launch AI music copyright tracing platform TuneGuard, using audio fingerprint technology to trace training data contribution ratios in AI-generated music.
Sony Music and Spotify jointly launched the AI music copyright tracing platform TuneGuard on December 4. The platform uses a technology called "audio DNA fingerprinting" that can decompose AI-generated music into contribution ratios from underlying training data, pinpointing specific tracks and artists. Over 12,000 AI-generated music pieces have completed copyright traceability registration in the initial batch.
Sony Music's CEO said TuneGuard's goal is to protect the rights of original creators while providing a legally compliant commercialization path for AI music creation. After the platform launches, AI music creators automatically receive copyright allocation reports when generating works, and rights holders can monitor in real-time whether their works are being used for AI training.
