The glasses contain six micro microphones and a bone-conduction sensor, capturing the faint acoustic signals generated by lip muscle movements to recognize commands, without requiring the user to speak loudly.

The core innovation of EchoFrame is acoustic lip-reading recognition. Traditional voice recognition relies on airborne sound waves, which suffer sharp accuracy loss in noisy environments. The microphones in EchoFrame are positioned on the nose bridge and temples, capturing the acoustic signals from lip movement at close range, and combining that with bone-conduction signals from the jaw and throat. Even in 85-decibel cafe environments, lip-reading command recognition still achieves 94 percent accuracy.

EchoFrame is particularly suited to environments where quiet operation is essential, such as meeting rooms, libraries, hospitals, and theaters. SoundVision has partnered with several companies to develop industry-specific applications. Mayo Clinic will use EchoFrame for surgical assistance, allowing surgeons to call up patient imaging with softly spoken commands without leaving the sterile field or asking a nurse for help. The consumer version of EchoFrame is priced at 899 dollars, with shipments starting in the second half of 2026.
