When a person dies, how should their email accounts, social media profiles, cloud photos, cryptocurrency, and AI assistant conversation records be handled? In May 2030, the UK Ministry of Justice's official implementation of the digital legacy executor certification system provides a legal framework.

Under the new regulations, citizens can designate a licensed digital legacy executor in their will—a professional responsible for managing all digital assets after the person's death. The license requires completion of a three-month training course and examination, covering digital asset law, privacy protection, data migration, and AI legacy management.

The UK Justice Secretary said: "The digital legacy of modern individuals may far exceed the value of their physical legacy. We need a professional system to ensure these digital assets are properly handled."

The certification system is expected to expand to Australia and Canada by the end of 2030.
