Facade Cleaning Robot FacadeBot Covers Shanghai Lujiazui: A Safety Revolution in High-Altitude Work

Shanghai startup CleanWall Tech's FacadeBot has been deployed on 48 supertall buildings in Shanghai's Lujiazui financial district, eliminating all high-altitude facade work casualties and tripling cleaning efficiency.

Shanghai startup CleanWall Tech announced in June 2028 that its building facade cleaning robot FacadeBot has been deployed on 48 supertall buildings in Shanghai's Lujiazui financial district.

FacadeBot moves across building exteriors using an adhesion drive system, equipped with high-pressure water nozzles, scrubbing pads, and AI vision. The robot automatically identifies different materials on windows, curtain walls, and decorative elements, adjusting cleaning pressure and detergent accordingly.

CleanWall Tech CEO Wang Lei said: "Supertall building facade cleaning is high-risk work. In the past five years alone, Shanghai has had 7 high-altitude facade work accidents. FacadeBot's goal is to keep human workers from hanging hundreds of meters in the air."

FacadeBot cleans approximately 200 square meters per hour — 3x faster than manual work. Shanghai's housing authority has listed FacadeBot as a recommended building facade maintenance solution.
