Quantum-Resistant VPN Protocol QuantumVPN Approved by IETF: Network Privacy Protection in the Post-Quantum Era

IETF approves quantum-resistant VPN protocol QuantumVPN, using lattice-based cryptography and quantum key distribution for dual-layer protection, ensuring VPN tunnels remain secure in the quantum computing era.

IETF formally approved quantum-resistant VPN protocol QuantumVPN on January 22. The protocol adds a quantum security layer on top of traditional VPN tunnels, using ML-KEM key exchange and ML-DSA digital signatures to replace traditional Diffie-Hellman and RSA algorithms.

QuantumVPN also supports optional quantum key distribution mode, providing information-theoretic security. NordVPN has announced a QuantumVPN-based service launching Q2 2030.
