SpatialMeet Holographic Meeting Protocol Enters Public Beta: Multi-User Naked-Eye 3D Spatial Meetings at 12ms Latency

Spatial Computing Alliance releases SpatialMeet 1.0 protocol public beta, defining holographic meeting data formats and transmission standards, supporting multi-user naked-eye 3D interaction in virtual spaces.

On July 1, 2028, the Spatial Computing Alliance, jointly initiated by Apple, Meta, and Magic Leap, released the SpatialMeet 1.0 protocol public beta. The protocol defines standardized formats and real-time transmission specifications for 3D character models, spatial audio, and gesture data in holographic meetings. In the Alliance's lab tests, end-to-end latency for 8-person holographic meetings dropped to 12 milliseconds—near-imperceptible levels. SpatialMeet is compatible with mainstream AR/VR devices and also supports "2D+" mode access via regular smartphones and laptops. Zoom and Tencent Meeting have announced SpatialMeet protocol support for Q3 2028.
