Quantum Random Number Distribution Service QRNGCloud Launches: Truly Unpredictable Keys for Encrypted Communications

Swiss quantum tech company ID Quantique launches QRNGCloud, a cloud quantum random number distribution service generating truly unpredictable random numbers through quantum physics processes for maximum cryptographic security.

Swiss quantum technology company ID Quantique launched the cloud-based quantum random number distribution service QRNGCloud on May 30, 2029. The service generates truly unpredictable random numbers using quantum vacuum fluctuations through a physics process, providing them via API to clients requiring the highest level of encryption security.

Traditional random number generators are based on mathematical algorithms and are essentially "pseudo-random," theoretically vulnerable to prediction. QRNGCloud's random numbers originate from the intrinsic randomness of quantum mechanics — a photon's path choice through a beam splitter is physically completely unpredictable.

Initial clients include UBS, Deutsche Bank, and the European Central Bank. Financial institutions have extremely high requirements for encryption key randomness, as weak random numbers are among the most common causes of cryptographic system breaches. ID Quantique says QRNGCloud's monthly service fees start at $5,000, targeting over 500 financial institution clients by end of 2030.
