Surgical Holographic Navigation System HoloGuide Deployed at 50 Hospitals: Real-Time 3D Organ Overlay Accuracy Reaches 0.5mm

Medtronic's HoloGuide surgical holographic navigation system has been deployed at 50 hospitals, overlaying pre-operative CT/MRI data in real-time onto the surgical field via AR glasses with 0.5mm guidance accuracy.

On August 12, 2028, medical device company Medtronic announced that its HoloGuide surgical holographic navigation system has been deployed at 50 top-tier hospitals worldwide.

HoloGuide generates an accurate 3D organ model from the patient's CT or MRI data before surgery, then overlays this model in real-time onto the surgical field through AR glasses worn by the surgeon. The system dynamically adjusts the overlay position based on actual organ displacement during surgery (such as liver movement caused by breathing).

Across more than 2,000 completed surgeries, HoloGuide has reduced critical structure injury rates by 62% and shortened average surgical time by 18%. The product director said HoloGuide shows the most significant effects in hepatobiliary surgery and neurosurgery.
